Prisoner exchange between Kyiv and Moscow takes place on Saturday

An exchange of prisoners took place between Moscow and Kyiv on September 7, 2019, Belsat.eu reported from Boryspil airport.

Earlier, it was reported that the process of prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine could be launched before the end of last week. The expected date was 7 September.

On that day, journalists lined up for Terminal B at Boryspil airport. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and Navy chief Ihor Vronchenko arrived at the airport.

Among the released are film director Oleh Sentsov, journalist Roman Sushchenko, Pavlo Grib, 24 Ukrainian sailors and others. All in all, there were 35 people.

According to Zelensky, this is only the beginning of negotiations. Next, there are plans to discuss the return of the remaining Ukrainian prisoners. Then, within the framework of the Minsk format, it is planned to disarm people in the conflict zone. Later it is planned to end the war and start negotiations on the return of Ukrainian territories.
