Powerful explosion rocks Kyiv, no casualties reported

Late in the evening on March 23, a powerful explosion was heard near a residential building in Solomyanskaya area in Kyiv.

The explosion took place in the courtyard of apartment buildings with glass windows shattered in the neighboring houses, dtp.kiev.ua reports.

Emergency services arrived at the scene. It is noted that there were reported no death or injuries, although the explosion was heard as far as 1.5 km away from the spot.

According to the police, it was an explosion of an unknown device left in the metal garbage can. Fragments of the explosive device were taken to the police for special examinations.
