Police arrive at Baraulyany campground

In the morning, the police arrived at the tent camp in Baraulyany, set up by local residents to protest against the cutting of the forest and construction of a wide road near the houses. Policemen removed “Save the Forest” banners from the trees.

“They removed all the banners and signs, they also filled protocol. They did not speak with the locals. They were working very fast and are now gone. But we will protest anyway,” Ivan, a resident of the village, told Belsat.

As “Belsat” reported earlier, in the forest near Minsk there was a symbolic tent camp (the locals are not staying there all the time), which symbolizes a protest against thecutting of the forest and contruction of a wide road near the houses. Residents of the Baraulyany settlement, which also includes Leskauka, Lyasny, and Vopytny villages, suspect the local authorities of corruption ties with private construction companies.
