Poland's FM Waszczykowski to come to Belarus in late March. By car?

Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski is eager to come to Belarus by car, visit Minsk and “places where Poles live”, he said on Friday.

“I wish it would not be just a courtesy visit lasting a few hours. I would like to go there by car, to get to Minsk, as well as to the places where Belarusian Poles live. I also want to visit the town where my mother was born,” Witold Waszczykowski said.

According to the minister, he is looking forward to Belarus’ returning to cooperation with the EU. Poland might become a mediator in this process, Waszczykowski stressed.

“I believe that Belarus is our neighbor which we should normalize relations with. Our relations might be not so tense, but they are still unstable,” he added.

The exact date of the visit will be reported soon.
