Poland’s environment minister tested positive for coronavirus

On March 16, Polish Environment Minister Michal Wos said he was tested positive for coronavirus. Earlier, he had contacted with an infected State Forest employee, Polish Press Agency (PAP) reports.

“I feel well. I say thanks to health service workers and express my solidarity with all the sick,” the top official said.

The persons who communicated with Wos have been subjected to ‘appropriate procedures’, Piotr Muller, Spokesman for the government of Poland, says on Twitter.

Blood tests have reportedly been taken from all members of the Cabinet.

Michal Wos was appointed to the ministerial post less than two weeks ago, on March, 5.

According to recent reports of the Polish Health Ministry, the country has confirmed 205 coronavirus cases; five persons died.
