The Polish Ministry of Justice has placed a database containing names and photos of 768 sex offenders on the Internet.
The vast majority of the persons listed are men who were convicted of sexual abuse of children under the age of 15.
The register has the Public and the Restricted Access parts. Anyone who cares can get a line on an offender (his name, surname and place of birth, criminal history) . As for the other part, only law enforcement agencies will gain access to it.
The register is also available in English.
A similar register is in effect in the United States.
