Plainclothes policemen take Minsk activist to undisclosed location

Activist Volha Nikalaichyk was detained and taken to an undisclosed location on September, 4. Her whereabouts is still unknown.

“Today at 19:20 Volha Nikalaichyk was detained near the post office in Valhahradskaya street. A man in civvies approached to her, showed his ID, took her to a blue minivan and drove in an unknown direction,” activist Leanid Kulakou said on Facebook on Monday evening.

A bit later, the woman managed to call her friend Natallya Mitskevich and confirm the fact of detention.

In late July, Volha Nikalaichyk was fined for participating in an unsanctioned protest rally against holding the joint Russian-Belarusian war game Zapad 2017 in our country. The Zapad (West-2017) war game is scheduled for September, 14-20. It will be the final stage of the joint training of the armed forces of the two countries this year.
