According to the test results, the two have no relation to the reception of the drug or other doping substances.

“A taekwondo fighter does not need this drug for better results. Last time we used meldonium in May 2015 as part of physiological recovery and the general course of pharmacology. Such was the practice. But when last May a question of putting meldonium on the list of banned drugs, we excluded it,” Andrey Chuchval, the deputy chairman of the Belarusian Federation of Taekwondo, told tribuna.by.

Chuchval believes that Silla did not use meldonium on his own accord.

“Silla and his personal trainer passed a lie-detector test – there is no information about using any doping in their memories,” Chuchval added.

Whether the Belarusian athlete will be taking part in the 2016 Olympic Games remains open.

Arman Marshall Silla was born July 13, 1994 in Minsk. He is Europe’s taekwondo champion in 2014 and 2016.
