Over 200 people in Belarusian hospitals are connected to mechanical lung ventilators due to pneumonia, Alyaksandr Lukashenka at a meeting on Sunday, BelTA informs.

According to the head of state, 10% of all ALV devices are currently in use.

“I check the information every day. Today I got it. Again, we have 9% (identified cases of COVID-19) of pneumonia, I keep an eye on them. Only 10% of the devices are occupied. We have a little over 200 people on ALV today. And we have 2,500 ventilators, plus half a thousand anesthesia and breathing apparatuses if we need them,” he said.

Lukashenka also said that only 30% of all pneumonia patients were diagnosed with COVID-19.

“This is also a very good indicator. So today I have no claims either to the Ministry of Health or the chief physicians of hospitals. We have clearly developed the systems of treatment of infected people,” said Lukashenka.
