OSCE special representative urges stop to external management of enterprises in Donbas

The OSCE Special Representative to the Tripartite Contact Group for the Settlement of the Situation in Donbass, Martin Sajdik, said that external management at enterprises with Ukrainian jurisdiction in Donbas causes significant economic losses to Ukraine and the population of Donbas.

External management (or nationalization) was introduced by the leadership of the factions of the LPR and DPR on the territories controlled by the militants. Ukrainian enterprises de facto remain under Ukrainian jurisdiction, but in practice they are captured by LDPR factions.

According to Martin Sajdik, “the introduction of the so-called external management of enterprises under Ukrainian jurisdiction in certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the ban on trade through the contact line, has caused significant economic damage to all of Ukraine, including the population of Donbas.”
