The demonstrative and large-scale intensification of bloody provocation by Russian forces completely nullifies the ceasefire. Oleksandr Turchynov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council said on Tuesday.
The Russian side has greatly increased the intensity of attacks on Ukrainian army positions by using Minsk-banned heavy weapons placed in the residential neighborhoods of occupied settlements, he states.
“Only in the past 24 hours, seven Ukrainian soldiers were killed and nine were wounded in enemy attacks, which has been the heaviest losses since the beginning of the year,” Turchynov stressed.
According to him, the responsibility for provocation rests on the military and political leadership of the Russian Federation that ‘systematically and consistently endangers the peaceful settlement of the conflict and the liberation of occupied territories’.
In his opinion, the concentration of Minsk-banned heavy weapons along the demarcation line is a proof for Russia’s systematic preparation for active military confrontation.
“Besides, during the month, the use of reconnaissance and combat drones has been stepped up,” he added. According to Turchynov, these drones are launched both from occupied territory and Russia.
There is a threat of Kremlin’s unleashing full-scale hostilities in Europe, Turchynov warns.
