Now in Hrodna: More coronavirus cases in Belarus


Another three residents of Belarus are diagnosed with COVID-2019, the Belarusian Health Ministry reported on Wednesday.

The three persons who live in Minsk, Homiel and Hrodna have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

One of the cases – that of the Belarusian citizen returning from Portugal – was detected during the check at Minsk Airport. Another case of infection was recorded in the west of the country. On March 10, a 62-year-old woman who had previosly come from Italy to Hrodna was taken to the regional hospital for infectious diseases.

Earlier, there were nine confirmed COVID-19 cases in Minsk and Vitsebsk. Thus, the number of the infected people has totalled to 12.

Meanwhile, three patients who were hospitalised in late February are expected to be discharged as they have been re-tested negative and seem to be recovering. The student from Iran whose case was reported as the first is among them.

Currently, all patients’ condition is satisfactory, they are not febrile, the press service of the ministry added.
