Not holding to chair with blue fingers, Lukashenka claims

During his speech at the Independence Day gala meeting, Alyaksandr Lukashenka touched upon the election campaign in Belarus. The story was aired on ONT.

“I’m in this presidential campaign not because I am holding on to the chair with my blue fingers. I have given the best years of my life, like many of you, to the construction of this country. I biult it the best I could. As it turned out, I was as good as anyone,” he said.

Lukashenka added that we live in a safe, quiet country, other states envy us.

“And we live and do not understand how we got it. We did it with you. Therefore, on August 9, do it without any pity: do not look at Lukashenka, that he is ours, he was with us. Pity is not our ally. You should, as people say, pull yourself together, think and solve the problem. Lukashenka comes and goes, there will be others, he is not eternal. And life on this piece of land should continue.

Therefore, throw away all emotions, today emotions do not matter, today they play on your and my emotions, today they use so-called new technologies: the Internet and so on. We must show that we are Belarusians and we are well versed in any intricacies of the Internet. We have to pass this period with dignity. And you, without any pity, should determine who you will live with and how you will build your sovereign independent country for your children,” said Lukashenka.
