No plans to allow cryptocurrency payments in Belarus

According to the National Bank chairman Pavel Kalavur, the authorization of cryptocurrency settlements in Belarus is not on the agenda.

“As for cryptocurencies, the question of allowing the use of cryptocurrencies to pay for goods, works, and services on the territory of Belarus, is not considered whatsoever,” said the head of the National Bank at the opening of the XIV International Forum on Banking Information Technologies.

Cryptocurrency is an electronic currency, created and controlled using cryptographic methods. To date, the world’s biggest digital currency, bitcoin, has the market capitalization of $ 5,363.

Economists have warned that investment in cryptocurrencies are fraught with risk, and the market is regulated by no one.
