No maidans possible in Belarus, Lukashenka warns

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has met with KGB Chairman Valer Vakulchyk and spoke about the latest developments in the country, BelTA reports.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka said he knows “where the winds blow on our Belarusian land”. “Unfortunately, it’s not from the right side,” he said. But we are ready for any winds,” he said.

“National security is our major foundation. And the State Security Committee together with the president has the main role in protecting the independence and sovereignty of our state in this regard. We very well know the goals that certain windbags pursue here. These goals are clear to us: to have a small Maidan on the eve of the presidential election or on the day of the presidential election. That is what they planned. I want to warn you at this meeting and everyone who will hear us, I want to warn all the “maidan-stricken” that there will be no maidans in Belarus,” said Lukashenka.
