New sentences and penalties for activists


While serving arrest for Freedom Day participation, a “European Belarus” activist received 10 more days in prison for Kurapaty. This was reported by Volha Nikalaichyk, who was released from Akrestsina on 4 April.

On March 27th, the Pershamaiski district court of Minsk sentenced Maksim Vinyarski to 8 days in prison for hooliganism and disobedience.

The Minsk taxi driver and public activist Leanid Kulakou received the longest prison term for the Freedom Day — 25 days.

An activist of “Young Belarus” Natallia Papkova was fined 20 basic units (460 rubles) for disorderly conduct based on a protocol from 30 March. He had allegedly insulted some police officers.

Natallia Papkova is currently serving a 5 days’ sentence for participating in the non-parasite protest. She is supposed to be released on 5 April.
