As of April 29, the number of the people who contracted the coronavirus infection has surged to 13,181, which is 7.8% of the tests taken.
Over the last day, 973 new infections have been registered in Belarus, which has become a new sad record since the beginning of the pandemic.
“For the entire period of the spread of the infection in the country, 84 patients who were previously tested positive for the coronavirus have died; they had chronic and co-existing illnesses,” the Health Ministry said on Telegram.
On Tuesday, the ministry confirmed 79 coronavirus deaths; thus, in the space of the past 24 hours, another five persons have passed away.
2,072 patients have already recovered and been discharged. Nearly 169,000 tests for detecting the novel coronavirus have been conducted in Belarus, the statement reads.
