Turkmenistan marked its Independence Day with fanfare: celebrations were held, inter alia, at the metropolitan stadium where a performance in the style of North Korean crowd scenes was staged.[vc_row][vc_column][vc_images_carousel images=”25879,25887,25903,25907,25891,25899,25895,25883″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”25912″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row]Turkmen president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov appeared at the festive concert that took place at the Palace of Congress in Ashgabat. Interestingly, in the hall Berdimuhamedov took his personal golden chair.
Other guests – including MPs, government representatives, heads of security agencies and non-governmental organizations, as well as representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations – were sitting on usual chairs.
Musical bands, well-known folk and opera singers, young stars of the Turkmen pop-, dance and folk ensembles performed at the concert, ‘Turkmenistan: The golden age’ reports.
However, the undisputed star was Berdimuhamedov himself. At the end of the concert all the performers sang the song ‘Never look back, our native land Turkmenistan!’ written by the president.
