Soldier’s mother Volha said that the attack was carried out when she came out of the eoectric train at the “Zyalyonaye” station and headed to the summer cottage. She had 500 meters left when she got attacked by an unknown man.
“I heard someone’s steps behind me, I turned around and saw a stranger who looked decently. He was holding some sort of log. I wanted to run but then felt punches raining on me. I screamed and tried to run, I got very scared. I do not know how I managed to escape. I ran up to my cottage and called the police, called for neighbors. The police arrived. Then I was taken to the hospital, because my head was bruised, they put stitches on it,” the woman said.
Police shrugging shouldders
She is confident that the police would not look for anyone, although three teams came and recorded her testimony. Now the police are shrugging shoulders, because the motive is not clear.
“There was no robbery. Maybe he just wanted to scare me, maybe it’s some kind of political action. I do not know what he wanted from me. I do not know what to think. Is it just a coincidence, or it is connected with my son, who is fighting in Ukraine, or the fact that I seek from the KGB to give me back my notebook which they took after a search,” said the Zubr fighter’s mother.
She remembered the assailant. She says that he was well dressed – in a shirt, trousers. He was tall, lean, athletic build, middle-aged.
“He did it on purpose. I have several versions. But I am inclined to think that he wanted to scare me for political reasons. I could have died, because he hit me on the head four times. I do not remember how I survived and escaped,” said Volha.
Her son has been fighting in Ukraine for more than a year. Given the evidence against him, a criminal case under article “mercenarism” was launched against him.
