Moscow: Nearly 40% of patients on ventilator are under age of 40

It is not only the senior citizens who are severely attacked by the coronavirus infection, the COVID-19 crisis management centre in Moscow reports.

According to them, almost 40% of patients who have been put on lung ventilators are younger than 40 years. The proportion of such patients under sixty is 64%, or almost two thirds.

There are 1,014 confirmed coronavirus cases in Moscow. 46% of them are in the 35 to 64 age bracket. About 33.5% are people aged from 18 to 34 years old. Another 15% are over-65s. 5.5% are children who, in most cases, have no symptoms or come through the illness well.

Amid the outbreak of the disease, the representatives of the crisis centre urge Muscovites to stay at their homes.
