The apartment of Novaya Gazeta journalist Yuliya Polukhina has been searched on Thursday, Deutsche Welle reports.
Polukhina was the first to report about the arrests of members of the prvate military company Racoon Corp (ЕНОТ корп). Later, the arrestees became involvants in the case of establishing a criminal group under the FSB umbrella.
According to her colleagues, after the raid, the investigators have taken a journalist in an unknown direction.
The searches are being carried out at the places of some other involvants, including Mikhail Paltsev, a member of Russia’s Academy of Sciences, meduza.io reports with reference to its own sources.
The criminal case Yuliya Polukhina brought into limelight was initiated against several employees of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB). They are suspected of creating a criminal group which included participants in the military actions in Donbas. The investigators believe that the gang was set up to commit attacks on groups engaged in smuggling of gray iPhones and other gadgets.
