On May 9, a military parade was held in Moscow in honor of the 74th anniversary of the victory in World War II. In addition to the leaders of Russia, Vladimir Putin and Dmitry Medvedev, former presidents of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev took part in it.
More than 13,000 servicemen took part in the Victory Parade, including the consolidated women’s detachment of the Russian Defense Ministry and the military patriotic movement Yunarmiya.
Among other things, launchers of intercontinental ballistic missiles “Yars” took part in the parade.
The air part of the parade was canceled due to bad weather. It should have involved 56 aircraft and 18 helicopters, RIA Novosti reports.
