Minskers protesting in spite of rain: Independence Square tonight (photo report)

On August 19, thousands of Belarusians came to the House of Government again, showing their discontent with vote rigging and the outbreak of police abuse in the wake of the 2020 presidential election.

The Interior Ministry building which is located in Independence Avenue became an impromptu meeting point. Several dozen people holding white-red-white flags gathered there and at about 6 pm they marched to Independence Square.
