Minsker faces 3 years in prison for walking naked in front of tanks


A criminal case was launched against the man who took off his pants during the parade rehearsal, Minsk police reports.

“On June 24, during the parade rehearsal, a man came out on the road and put out his genitals. His actions grossly violated public order and expressed clear disrespect for society. His illegal actions were stopped by the employees of the Minsk Traffic Police. A criminal case under part 1 of Article 339 ( “hooliganism”) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus has been opened,” the police report says.

The man has been arrested. According to Part 1 of Article 339, he faces up to three years in prison.

The incident that took place near the Park of Victory in Minsk was filmed on video and appeared online.

In addition, the police reported about the offense during the parade rehearsal on June 28.

“While intoxicated, a citizen came out into the street and tried to stop the movement of the military vehicles. The offender was brought to administrative responsibility under Part 2 article 18.23 ( “Violation of traffic rules by pedestrians and other road users or refusal to undergo the examination” of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus,” the Minsk police reported.
