Many countries count on Belarus’ support, but they need to pay for it - president

On March 22, Alyaksandr Lukashenka is on a working visit to Brest region. As part of it, he has met with the authorities of the town of Baranavichy.

According to him, their joint task is to develop the economy of regions and then solve social problems on that basis; the gap in living standards must be minimezed.

“The only danger to our development is not ideology, not the media, neither advanced, nor traditional, and not the internet. If we support our economic development at the proper level, if we gradually move forward every year, make progress every five-year period, our country will always be stable and no one will be able to turn us anywhere. The main thing is the economy,” Lukashenka said.

At the same time, the Belarusian leader believes that many states, including Norway, Sweden, Finland, African countries. count on Belarus’ support.

Everybody knows about Belarus, and many hope that Belarus will provide support using its technologies and skills. We are not against, but it is not for free, they need to pay for it. We must earn money. But we can earn money only if we join efforts and move in a certain direction. And we do not need to tighten our belts anymore, we had done it enough already. There is no need to frighten people, we just need to work, make for ourselves and our families, our regions and our state where all of us are going to live,” state-run news agency BelTA quotes him.
