Lyabedzka fined 10.5 million for Freedom Day rally


Central district court of Minsk has sentenced the politician for participation in the rally on 25 March. Judge Victoria Shabunya found him guilty of violating the order of organizing and holding mass events.

Protocols for taking part in the March 25 rally have also been drawn on Alyaksei Yanukevich, Vital Rymasheuski, Anatol Shumchanka, Pavel Sevyarynets, Mikalai Statkevich, Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu, and others. With regard to Yanukevich, Rymasheuski and Shumchanka, administrative protocols were drawn up for participating in the rally near the capital’s cinema “Kastrychnik”, where the politicians spoke before the rally in Surhanava street. This ground was designated by the resolution of Minsk City Executive Committee as the gathering place for protesters.

Statkevich, Nyaklyayeu, Lyabedzka and Sevyarynets also took part in laying flowers at the monument to Yanka Kupala in the same park, there was also a meeting and a march along Independence Avenue to the “Kastrychnik” cinema, which was not sanctioned by the Minsk authorities.
