Alyaksandr Lukashenka has sent greetings to participants of celebrations marking the 135th birth anniversary of the Belarusian literature classic Yakub Kolas.
“One of the founders of modern fiction, the author of the famous poetic masterpieces, he became a true folk singer, a symbol of greatness and cultural wealth of the nation. The talented master of words showed in his works the highest human feelings, the wisdom and the best character traits of Belarusians, sincere love for their native language,” said the statement, BelTA reports.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka stressed that the life and literary activity of Yakub Kolas are an example of selfless service to the nation and homeland, and his creative heritage is considered to be the source of spirituality and inspiration for many generations.
