Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka has sent a message to his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, the presidential press service reports.

“No one in Belarus is indifferent to the alarming news about a fast-spreading virus in China. On behalf of the Belarusian nation and myself, I would like to express deep condolences to the families of the victims and to wish a speedy recovery to the sick,” the message reads.

The Belarusian leader praised ‘the courage of Chinese people’ and ‘the efficiency of the efforts of the government’ in the fight against 2019-nCoV, a novel strain of coronavirus.

According to Lukashenka, as part of friendly support, the Belarusian side decided to send necessary medical aid to China.

“And we are ready to help you deal with any temporary difficulties in the future. Please tell what else we can do for you. Belarus will always be a reliable and devoted friend of the Great China!” he stressed.

On January 28, the Belarusian leader announced that a plane carrying medications, personal protective equipment (masks, gowns and gloves), disinfectants and other medical devices would head to China as soon as possible.

In addition, the officials of the Belarusian Health Ministry and other experts may be sent to China to provide advice and assessment of the situation.
