Lukashenka to attend Russian Press congress hosted by Minsk


Alyaksandr Lukashenka will attend the 19th World Congress of Russian Press in Minsk.

The news of his feasible participation was reported by the World Association of Russian Press (WARP).

The forum that is being held in Minsk has brought together over 200 members of the Russian-language media and guests from 52 countries. Belarus is hosting the congress for the second time.

The main event is the plenary session on July 12 which will consistof two parts (‘Challenges and opportunities: sovereignty, integration, globalization’ and ‘Mass media in the context of digital revolution’), Belarus’ Information Minister Liliya Ananich said.

In addition, the delegates will stand the chance to see Slavyanski Bazaar music festival in Vitsebsk and visit a nember of Belarusian enterprises, including Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ).

The 19th World Congress of Russian Press is organized by the World Association of Russian Press, the Belarusian Information Ministry, and the World Russian Press Foundation. For its 20-year history, it has been held in Russia only three times: in 1999, 2008 and 2015.
