Lukashenka says new government will be formed before election

The Head of State Alyaksandr Lukashenka said he would form a new government even before the presidential election. He said so during the meeting on economic and political issues, Telegram Channel “Pul Pervogo” (Pool of the First) reports.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has said that a new government will soon be formed in Belarus.

“We have always presented a new Cabinet after the registration of the existing president as a candidate. Before the elections! It is a matter of principle for people to see who we will work with. It’s not like we would put relatives, loved ones and others into this government after the election is over and we’ve been voted in. This is our main executive body and the only one. That is why we need to prepare a new government, to solve the issue in terms of form, how the new government will be formed before the elections,” said Lukashenka.

The current Prime Minister Syarhei Rumas headed the government in August 2018. His appointment was associated with hopes for reforms in the public sector, but the hopes have not realized.
