Lukashenka says independence of Belarus not for sale

During a meeting with representatives of major state-run media at the Independence Palace, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said that Belarus’ independence is not for sale.

Alexei Venediktov, Editor-in-Chief of Echo of Moscow, recently said in an interview with Dmitri Gordon that there is now a trade on integration between Moscow and Minsk. “All this is a matter of trade. Whether Lukashenka will endure or not is a matter of price. The offer is important… After all, he has a product, but give him a good price for it,” he said.

“I read in an review the other day, and our friend Venediktov said it: it’s a matter of price, offer Lukashenka a good price,” BelTA quoted the head of state. “Look, there is no price they can pay me to accept their terms. There is no such price! There are no pockets in the coffin. No matter how many billions you have, you won’t need any billions in the other world. These are my beliefs, my principles, my ideology.”
