Lukashenka receives title of 'Honorary Uzden of Dagestan'

The Belarusian leader has received the title for “iron will, far-sighted policy and an example of patriotism and respect for the peoples of the CIS.”

The certificate and medal for Alyaksandr Lukashenka were given to the Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Ihar Petryshenka on November 17 at the Belarusian Embassy in Moscow during the meeting with the Chairman of the Board of “Uzdens of Dagestan” Kerimhan Umahanov, RIA Dagestan reports.

Earlier in Dagestan Uzdens were free people living in an independent rural community or who were under the jurisdiction of different rulers as citizens. Literally translated, “Uzden” means “one who lives alone.”

The representative of Dagestan passed to Alyaksandr Lukashenka through the Ambassador of Belarus a burqa, a sword, and a cap.
