Lukashenka promises to remove all barriers for business initiative

A final decision on the package of documents aimed at stimulating business activity should meet the interests of Belarus, president Alyaksandr Lukashenka said at Tuesday’s session.

According to the president, the government is expected to make decisions that will help all people start a business and work with a minimal set of regulations.

“All unnecessary barriers should be eliminated. Unfortunately, there is a number of such barriers today,” he stressed.

“God forbid someone will not behave after October 1, when these instruments will enter into force – there will be hell to pay, I assure you,” the Belarusian leader promised.

However, the state should not and will not lose control in the economy, he stressed.

“People will not forgive us then. If something happens, the government will be accountable for it, and business will be less accountable.”

The package of documents on stimulating business initiative is expected to comprise a dozen legal acts. Lukashenka failed to reveal when a final decision on the documents will be made.
