On December 23, Head of State held a working meeting with the head of presidential affairs, Viktar Sheiman.

The meeting focused on the results and prospects of the Department of Affairs, cooperation with African countries, personnel issues, the press service of Alyaksandr Lukashenka reports.

Separately, they touched upon the organization of the charity event “Our Children,” as well as the Vienna Ball on December 28 at the Independence Palace.

Viktar Sheiman is suspected of involvement in the murder of opponents of the Belarusian authorities in 1999 – former Interior Minister Yury Zakharanka, former CEC chairman Viktar Hanchar and businessman Anatoli Krasouski. At that time he served as State Secretary of the Security Council.

Former special forces fighter Yuri Garavski, who was interviewed last week and confessed to kidnapping politicians, is sure that Sheyman was also involved in their murder.
