Liliya Ulasava no longer on house arrest


The house arrest against the member of the Presidium of the Coordination Council Liliya Ulasava has been canceled, the press service of the Constitutional Court reports.

Liliya’s husband said that now she plans to restore health and rest. Meanwhile, the case against her was not closed, she remains accused.

Liliya Ulasava was released from the KGB pre-trial detention center on Monday, but she was put on the house arrest as back as on October 16.

Liliya Ulasava, a member of the Presidium of the Coordination Council, a well-known lawyer and international mediator, was detained on August 31 by employees of the Financial Investigation Department of the SCC. A criminal case was initiated against Ulasava under Part 2 of Art. 243 of the Criminal Code (tax evasion). Human rights activists recognized her as a political prisoner.

Liliya Ulasava was one of the participants in the meeting with Lukashenka, which took place in the KGB pre-trial detention center on October 10. After this visit, the preventive measure was changed for seven political prisoners.
