On December 17, By_Pol, the campaign created by opposition-minded people who earlier belonged to Belarusian uniformed services, published a video of police officers humiliating and beating detainees in Frunzenski district police department of Minsk on August, 12.
It shows policemen battering people who offer no resistance. They forced a man, allegedly a structural engineer, to lie face down when they were going through the belongings. According to the detainee, he had hard hats in the car as he needed them at work, but the policemen assumed he intentionally had taken them to a protest rally.
Questioning a man whose hands were tied behind the back, they hit him in the stomach, saying: “You have only one life and two kidneys”. The officers often used foul language.
“Lick the baton,” one of them ordered another detainee who was lying on the floor.
Notably, at least two female officials (Liliyana Zhylyankova and Karyna Kunher) filmed and interrogated the detained protesters and ordinary passers-by, exerted pressure on them, witnessed without blinking an eye.
