Pollsters asked people in Russia about the origin of the potential military attack threat for the Russian Federation.

According to 6% of Russians, there is a possibility of attack made by ISIS, and another 3% fear aggression from Syria, 1% – from China and Afghanistan, korrespondent.net reports.

According to the survey, about 48% of Russians believe that there is now a threat of a military attack on Russia by another State, 43% deny this possibility. At the beginning of 2015 the majority of Russians (68%) were much more anxious about the foreign forces potentially invading the Russian Federation.

At the same time almost all the Russians (93%) believe in the strong state of the army, and 32% even say that Russian troops are “most effective and efficient in the world.” Only a third of respondents (35%) said that the Russian military spending is too high.

The survey was conducted on October 10-11, 2015. Pollsters interviewed 1.6 thousand people in 130 villages in 46 regions and republics of Russia. The margin of error, according to the study authors, does not exceed 3.5%.
