Belarusians living in Switzerland will establish a monument to the national hero of Belarus, Poland and the United States.
The grand opening will take place on 21 October in the Swiss city of Solothurn, Lavon Volsky will perform at the ceremony.
“According to Ales Sapeha, the governing body of the Belarusian Association in Switzerland representative, at the initiative of the international community, the UNESCO Commission announced 2017 the year of Tadeusz Kościuszko. In this regard, and given that our national hero ended his career on the Swiss soil, the Belarusian diaspora in Switzerland found it necessary to create and open a monument to him,” said the statement of the Belarusian Association of Switzerland.
