Kazakhstani students forced to leave Belarus over coronavirus

Students who have left to study abroad are forcibly returned to Kazakhstan. The reason for that is coronavirus. Thus, students from Belarus are to return at their own expense by March 12, ASTANATV reports.

Fifty students from Belarus are to return to Kazakhstan. They should do it by Thursday, March 12, and at their own expense. In Nur-Sultan, parents are outraged and insist on an organized return.

Students from Kazakhstan came to Belarus under the academic mobility program. Prices of registration and flight cost the parents about 200 thousand tenge (about $ 505).

The Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan reports that the program to send students abroad will be temporarily suspended.

In turn, the Ministry of Education of Belarus in its Telegram channel writes that the agency did not receive any official letters in connection with the Kazakh students leaving Belarusian universities.

No cases of coronavirus infection have been found in Kazakhstan so far. In Belarus, 21 cases of virus infection have been registered.
