Donetsk commander 'Motorola' killed by elevator explosion

The authorities of the self-proclaimed republic suspect Ukraine is behind the attempt.

One of the commanders of the pro-Russian separatists Arsen Pavlov, better known by the call sign of ‘Motorola’ has been killed in Donetsk, “Interfax” informs referring to the Ministry of Defence of the self-proclaimed People’s Republic of Donetsk.

According to the agency, Motorola was killed by an improvised explosive device triggered in an elevator. PRD Ministry is suspecting Ukraine’s reconnaissance groups to be behind the attack.

Arsen Pavlov commanded a division in the People’s Republic of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine. He, among other things, participated in the battles for Ilovaysk and Donetsk airport.

He publicly confessed that he had killed 15 Ukrainian POWs.

This attempt on Motorola’s life was not the first one. This June, an explosion occurred near the trauma center in Donetsk, which, according to the head of DNR Alexander Zakharchenko, could have killed Pavlov.
