'Kalashnikov' wants Russians to have up to ten weapons

The “Kalashnikov” concern has prepared amendments to the law “On Arms”.

The largest Russian producer of small arms has come up with a proposal to allow Russians to have up to ten weapons per person, to reduce the probation period (from 5 to 3 years) required to purchase a hunting rifle, and to increase the capacity of a hunting rifle clip for training and shooting practice, kommersant.ru reports.

The share of “Kalashnikov” in the market of military small arms in 2017 was about 80%. Its share on the Russian market of rifled long arms is 34%, smooth-bore and long-bore arms — 2%. If the amendments are adopted, “these indicators should increase,” the Russian edition notes.

The bill has been submitted by the deputies of the “United Russia” party and will soon be presented to the parliament.
