Interior Minister: Bomb threat reports came from abroad

Belarusian Interior Minister Ihar Shunevich has said that the bomb hoax messages about a number of facilities were not sent from the territory of Belarus, BelTA writes.

The minister stated that so far the police had failed to apprehend the perpetrators.

“We are almost sure that they are abroad,” he said. “We know where the servers are”.

The police, according to him, have relevant evidence. Shunevich also noticed that in Belarus the false bombers were almost always detained.

“Foreigners, unfortunately, could neither be detected nor detained. It is a matter of the future activities,” the minister added.

Law enforcement officers have developed an algorithm for responding to such messages, the minister noted.

“We will put the facilities that will be involved in the II European Games on round-the-clock protection. We check them in advance with the help of pyrotechnic, sapper brigades, service animals, special equipment,” he said.

In recent months, there have been several bomb scare reports about some sites in Minsk: the railway station, the airport, the Gallery shopping center, and the Galileo shopping center.
