IMF representative: Belarus can achieve economic success without Russia

The economic crisis in Belarus – where it came from and how to get out of it. Will IMF which so far has refused to give money help Belarus? Belsat spoke with the head of the IMF mission in Belarus, David Hoffman, who worked in Belarus last week.

“Belarusian economy in its current state does not ensure a strong and sustainable growth. It is important that Belarus broke the cycle of crises that are constantly repeated. To do this, the government should undertake deep structural reforms aimed at reorienting the economy towards market relations. These reforms should make the economy more efficient and competitive and to ensure greater economic growth, so that Belarusians could have a stable standard of living.”

David Hoffman also believes that Belarus can achieve economic success without Russia.
