Hrodna drug dealer who fled to US extradited to Belarus

On October 17, US law enforcement officers handed over a 21-year-old resident of Hrodna to Belarusian investigators at Minsk Airport. The young man fled to the United States almost two years ago.

In 2015, the man was convicted of drug trafficking. Later, the police arrested him for purchasing psychotropics on the Internet, but he managed to flee the country. The Hrodna resident was put on the Interpol wanted list.

In August 2017, the US police detained the Belarusian citizen over fraud.

The extradition was held on the basis of the memorandum signed by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Belarusian Investigative Committee, reports.
