Hi-Tech park founder Tsapkala to run for presidency


Valer Tsapkala, the founder of the HTP, said he intends to participate in the 2020 presidential elections. The businessman wrote about it on his Facebook page.

Mr Tsapkala says that Belarus hasn’t used the time it had to develop. In his view, our country hasn’t used the time for a quarter of a century.

“I have decided to run for the post of President of Belarus! I have enough managerial and life experience for that! Having serious contacts in political and business circles around the world, I will be able to use them for the benefit of the people of Belarus! By creating the High Technology Park, I have shown both Belarus and the world that our people can be as smart, creative and enterprising as Americans, Englishmen, Japanese, Koreans and other successful peoples of the Earth,” Valer Tsapkala wrote.

Valer Tsapkala was born in February 1965 in the Hrodna region.

From 1997 to 2002, he served as Belarus’ Ambassador to the United States and Mexico. From 2005 to 2017, he was director of the High Technology Park.

He was the initiator and founder of the Belarusian High Technology Park. He is a PhD in Legal Sciences in International Law.
