Health Ministry cancels two-week quarantine for people arriving from Russia


The Ministry of Health of Belarus has excluded Russia from the list of countries where cases of coronavirus infection are registered.

“Individuals, arriving from Russia, are not required to stay in isolation for 14 calendar days from the day of arrival in Belarus,” reads the statement of the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry does not explain why the decision to cancel the quarantine for those arriving from Russia was taken.

Russia ranks 4th in the world by the number of officially registered cases of coronavirus infection. As of July 15, 745,197 cases of infection with COVID-19 were registered, 11,753 people died had.

On July 14, following a visit to Moscow, Prime Minister Raman Halouchanka announced that air and rail traffic between Belarus and Russia, which was interrupted in March due to the pandemic, would resume in the coming days.
