Hanna Huskova wins aerials gold for Belarus at 2018 Olympics


The performance of Belarusian freestyle skiers brought the first awards to our team at the 2008 Games in Pyeongchang.

Hanna Huskova has won first place in aerials, while Tsuper was one step short of the podium — she finished fourth.

After the unsuccessful performance of the biathlonists, the hope of the Belarusian fans lay with with the performance of freestylers. Our aerial acrobats did not disappoint. The first medal of Belarus was brought by Hanna Huskova, who won gold. Alla Tsuper took the fourth place. Belarusian freestylists has won medals in the sixth Olympics in a row.

On February 16, two Belarusians set off on their final jumping spree. At the first stage, it was necessary to get into the top nine. Tsuper was leading here for a long time, until she was beaten by a Chinese freestylist Xu Mengtao, who was in turn overtaken by Huskova. As a result, both girls placed in the top three.

In the main final, Alla Tsuper performed the most difficult jump, but fell, just like the two competitors – American Olsen and Australian Peel. Tsuper took the fourth place in her sixth Olympics. But Huskova performed her jump almost perfectly. The Belarusian sportswoman was followed by two Chinese women, silver medalist Zhang Xin and bronze medalist Kong Fanyu, who were unable to beat Hanna.
