Former investigator dies of coronavirus in Vitsebsk, media report

Accroding to Nasha Niva, Anatol Vysotski, 58, has died of pneumonia in Vitsebsk. He was a former special investigator at the Vitsebsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, retired colonel. His test for COVID-19 was positive.

Former colleagues of Anatol Vysotski told Nasha Niva that on Monday, March 30, he went on a sick leave, and on Friday, April 3, they were informed about the funeral planned for Sunday.

His test for coronavirus was positive. The wife of the deceased investigator confirmed this information.

“We made the test, and the result was positive. There’s no hiding it”. “As the results became known, the sanitation services were called in. We were later also tested. They are soon coming to treat the apartment, then tests — and isolation. We could not even think that he would test positive for it. And how do I know where he got infected??

It’s not like we traveled anywhere, we were here. I would go to and from work, I would go to the store. He would go to the store, to the market, to the dacha — and that was it. And so he sat at home, a retired man, didn’t go out, we didn’t go anywhere.

According to his wife, Colonel Vysotsky had an arrhythmia, he had a eart disease.
