Former Deputy Chair of Minsk City Executive Committee on trial as budget money is missing

A summer cafe in a historic building was opened for a $ 2,500 bribe, the investigation says. Andrei Damaratsky, who at that time held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, is on trial.

According to the public prosecutor, the official took bribes in the car, in the office of the private company “Foodstyle” for the positive decision of the Minsk City Executive Committee on trade issues. Prices ranged from 1,000 to 2,500 US dollars. The official has not recognized any wrongdoing, while his relatives refuse to comment.

The prosecution claims that in the position of the Consumer Market Directorate Head Andrei Damaratsky freed a number of trade enterprises from rental income payments. As a result, the city budget missed about three million rubles, and the official himself received an undeserved award of two million rubles.
