Foreign investment in Belarus down by $600 mln


In January-September 2019, foreign investors invested $7.1 billion in the real sector of the Belarusian economy (except for banks), the National Statistics Committee reports.

Compared to January – September 2018, foreign investments decreased by $600 million.

Among the main investors were economic entities of Russia (44.2% of all investments), Great Britain (19.7%) and Cyprus (6.6%).

The share of foreign direct investment was 73.6%.

During the same period, Belarusian organizations (except for banks) sent $4.4 billion worth of investments abroad, including 62.3% of them to Russia, 15.8% to Ukraine and 8.7% to Great Britain.

The share of direct investments was 91.1%.
